Statement of Policy
This Statement is made on behalf of the Company pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the Act), and constitutes the Company’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year as dated.
The Company wholeheartedly agrees that modern slavery is abhorrent and that it takes various forms such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which result in the deprivation and exploitation of those who are subjected to it for the personal or commercial gain of the perpetrators.
The Company accepts that the perpetrators are violating the fundamental human rights to those who are subjected to it.
Actions to Uphold Compliance with the Act
The Company in all its activities which will endeavour to ensure that in its own practices, and in the practices carried out on its behalf by its suppliers those involved undertake to comply with the Act. The Company operates a Managing Diversity Policy and is committed to creating and ensuring a non-discriminatory and respectful working environment for all those engaged by the Company. The Company’s recruitment and people management processes are designed to ensure all those who work for the Company are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom and to give access to opportunities based on merit. The Company will encourage employees to voice their concerns regarding the Modern Slavery Act. The Company’s Protected Disclosure Policy provides guidance on how any concerns can be raised.
The Company does not enter into business with any organisation in the United Kingdom or abroad which knowingly supports or is found to be involved in slavery, servitude or forced or compulsory labour. As a business the Company will undertake all reasonable and practical steps, including inspections where possible, to ensure standards are being adhered to and that local legislation and regulations are complied with. Any discrepancies found will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis in order to tailor remedial action appropriately.
The Company has reviewed the risks within its supply chain and the Company considers that the risks of exposure to modern slavery to be limited and the Company require its suppliers and contractors to demonstrate a zero-tolerance approach to any form of exploitation on an on-going basis.
